CARBON IMBALANCE PROBLEM

RESUME

• Out of the NBP components the only one that is not OK - fLuc
• All three parts of fLuc (CONVFLUX, CFLUX_PROD10, CFLUX_PROD100) get non-zero values from the first year of VEGET_UPDATE switch from 0Y to 1Y
• fLuc does not fall back to zero even when VEGET_UPDATE is switched back from 1Y to 0Y
• If we put explicitly delta_veg = 0 inside the routine lcchange, fLuc goes to zero, more likely meaning that the routine itself is OK
• If we print the min/max values of delta_veg that comes into the routine lcchange during the simulation, we get up to 9.87E-4 (!!!). Despite the fact that maxvegetfrac difference in the restart files goes only up to 1E-15
• delta_veg shows this huge difference only for few PFTs : PFT1 (which anyway takes no part in calculations), PFT7, PFT8, PFT9 and PFT15. The difference for all other PFTs is exact zero
• From the maps for fLuc components and PFT distribution we can see that there is no direct correlation between the PFTs affected and the regions of non-zeros fLuc
